Drake hosted his massive ‘Drizzmas Giveaway’ with Kick streamer Adin Ross the day after Christmas. Drizzy took to his official Kick stream, in partnership with Stake.com, to gift thousands of dollars in cash and prizes to fans.

With over 200K live viewers, this was Drake’s biggest livestream featuring a fully virtual backdrop. The production utilized two floor-to-ceiling green screens and a full-scale on set production team to seamlessly blend the real and virtual worlds for an immersive holiday experience.

What did I do

  • Designed and created the virtual environment for the livestream, transforming 90-degree floor-to-ceiling green screens into an immersive Christmas town square in the mountains.

  • Developed a festive, wintery atmosphere with detailed 3D elements, including cozy buildings, snow-covered landscapes, and warm holiday lighting.

  • Crafted a grand Christmas tree at the center of the town square, decorated with ornaments, lights, and festive details to enhance the holiday spirit.

  • Designed a cinematic opening sequence, where Drake descends from the sky with the moon and aurora behind him, making a dramatic entrance before stepping into the town square.

  • The entire scene was designed for three camera positions:

    • Opening shots for the dramatic descent.

    • 45-degree side view for dynamic perspectives.

    • Front view (main camera) for the primary broadcast angle.

  • Worked closely with lighting technicians and the director on set to finalize the lighting and camera angles in the virtual world, ensuring they matched perfectly with the real-world cameras and set lighting for a seamless integration.
